Educator Open House and Workshops

Join us for the Educator Open House and Workshops

You are cordially invited to the 3D Herndon Open House and Workshop for Educators being held Thursday August 5th and Tuesday August 10th.  Throughout each day our specialists will be demonstrating the use of 3D printers, 3D scanners, design software and 3D printer networking solutions for the classroom.  For those who recently purchased a 3D printer we will help you learn how to get off to a quick start, and if you’re already an advanced user we’ll be here to answer any questions you may have.  You can drop in any time to see and learn about 3D printing technologies including FDM, SLA, SLS and DLP printers.  We’ll also be demonstrating how 3D scanning is being used for archeological preservation, reverse engineering and creative art.  This will be a hands-on experience so please come to play with our toys and have fun learning.

For those who have a specific interest there will be specific workshops and demonstrations according to the following schedule:

10:00am – Operating Ultimaker and MakerBot 3D printers

11:00am – The process of 3D Scanning: from point cloud to final object

1:30pm – Operating Ultimaker and MakerBot 3D printers

2:30pm – Networking and remote operation of 3D printers

If you would like to attend one of these specific sessions it would help us to have you register so we have an estimated headcount.
